Remote Ranch Construction Supervision — Carbon Sequestration Infrastructure

Construction supervision for OSBL monitoring well pad development at three sites across a remote multi-thousand-acre South Texas ranch in support of a carbon capture and sequestration project.

Timeline: June 2023 – October 2023

A carbon capture and sequestration developer engaged Bell Engineering® to provide construction supervision across three OSBL monitoring well pad locations on a remote multi-thousand-acre South Texas ranch. The three sites were scattered across the property, and each needed to be built out in a working ranch environment without disrupting ongoing land use.

Bell supervised pad construction, roadway installation to the pad locations, and all supporting site access work. Each scope required close coordination with the landowner, with environmental regulators, and with the sequencing of drilling and monitoring equipment deliveries. Field crews logged daily progress, tracked sub-contractor performance against the schedule, and flagged deviations before they became cost issues.

Environmental compliance drove a large portion of the field work. A full SWP3 program was implemented and maintained at each pad, with regular inspections, documented corrective actions, and close coordination with the regulator. The three sites sat within sensitive habitat, which constrained how pads could be graded, where fill could be staged, and how access roads were routed.

All three pad sites were delivered ready for monitoring well installation on the developer’s schedule. The ranch was left in compliant condition and the landowner had no open items when Bell demobilized from the property.
